Summary of theory:

Abstract: A new individualist dwelling system which -- in order to reduce RQ-linked diseases such as cancer, depression, and dementia --

  • physically imposes the entropic law "n is company, m is a crowd", where n < m

a development on the ancient "2 is company, three is a crowd" adage... how is this achieved?

Simply by arranging individualist dwellings in a regular circular matrix and increasing inter-dwelling distance to about 12 meters (a very conservatively low number).

This is similar to the Vainakh system, in the sense that it divides civilization into Units:

(Compare the proposed UNIT to the Vainakh Nekh)

In the Vainakh system, “Individuals are united in family groups called “Tsa” – house. Several Tsas are part of the “Nekh” – road; a group of Nekhs is in turn a Teip. All such social structures bore responsibility and respect for law and order. If a problem is not solved in the Tsa, or Nekh, or Teip councils, it could move to Tukkhum counsil, and further even to Mekhk-Khel, the People’s Council, which addressed issues of national scale. Representatives of the people's council were elected by each Tukum counsil... and had an enormous influence on the destiny of the people

Below is the beautiful Namba Parks, Osaka:

This page discusses a Utopian design similar to but surpassing "Namba Parks" etc...

Our design starts from the first principles -- a Utopia must maximize happiness (reduce depression) of inhabitants.

The main culprit mental processes -- which burden the nervous system, leading to sadness aka depression (and dementia) -- are processes overreliant on Dopaminic processing -- examples:

a) How people carry out excessive syllogical ("analytic") thinking (a highly dopamine-dependent, RQ/Receptive Quotient-linked behavior)

b) How people entertain quantitative ideas regarding others' mindsets (if not, like most of our short-lived friends the animals, regarding the surroundings); how they track others' minds, and base their actions and lifestyles on processing such data (which is called solution-fetching), instead of processing one's understandings of objects, contexts, and scenarios (which is called problem-solving).

In other words, their mentalities are "relatively dopaminic":

A happiness-maximizing utopia must eliminate sadness, which is rooted in how one uses RQ rather than IQ.

Why has IQ usage decreased and RQ usage increased?

Due to

a) Estrangement from nature.

b) Problems associated with capitalism

b.1) As seen in the "success" of sociopaths, the Capitalist system monetarily rewards usage of RQ to a disproportionate extent

b.2) Indirectly as well, the rat-race-inspiring, juggernauting (n% growth rate-insisting) capitalist culture, and its resultant realities* -- reward and encourage RQ, and discourage IQ.

* e.g.: the modern "4 white walls" dwelling places of humans

It follows that, in an ideal, happiness-maximizing utopia --

Norepi-related behaviours will be encouraged (by providing underground workshops, personal gaming and project support, jamming stations etc., and promoting a DIY culture)

AND

Dopamine-dependent RQ-type behaviours will be minimized -- which requires a policy of disemphasizing quantitative inter-human contact and replacing it with qualitative inter-human contact,

i.e.,

increasing the entropy of society.

"What is entropy?"

entropy

(maximization of entropy is the law of the universe, and it is absurd and defeatist to go against it).

In our context, consider humans and nature as 2 liquids, and the mixture is called The World.

The World's entropy is maximized when the 2 liquids (humans and nature) are completely mixed with each other, completely dissolved into each other.

Entropy is least when the 2 liquids exist in their separate areas, as happens in the cities of today.

Entropy of civilization is maximized when human dwellings are spread out evenly, equidistant from each other...

Malthusians speak ill of humans;

alright!

Maximize entropy, i.e. separate out human dwellings in a high-entropy manner, equidistant from each other, and then we shall see how valuable and missed humans are!

Proof of how population diffusion should be maximized for maximizing happiness, is a couple of recent surveys (1, 2), like the Gallup survey that ranked U.S. cities by overall well-being (happiness) -- in which New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago all failed to crack the top 50. Nine of the top 10 spots in the survey went to mid-size cities*, with topmost being Boulder, Colorado. The only big city that cracked the top 10 was the Washington, D.C. area.

* Modern small cities or isolated settlements are too out-of-the-loop, due to financial system and/or an overly isolationist layout, to qualify as happiest. If the financial system was even-handed in this respect, they'd qualify as the happiest

The human body system is designed for (say) 90% interaction with nature (i.e. the logical objects that constitute it), and 10% interaction with other humans.

But nowadays we find quite the opposite ratio...

In fact the human's misery in the cities can be understood by studying chicken misery in the coops!

"In the 1920s, farmers began raising chickens indoors on wire floors. Crowded together with no opportunity to dustbathe and explore, the birds started pecking at each other. Instead of rectifying the environment, farmers chose beak mutilation".

1) In the 1920s, farmers began raising chickens indoors on wire floors.

This is how humans live, concentrating themselves in cities, which is a defensive mechanism of no use today (wars have become obsolete).

2) Crowded together with no opportunity to scratch, dustbathe, and explore, the birds started pecking at each other.

"Pecking at each other" is how humans, as a result, use "subjective logic" i.e. self-pseudo-serving syllogic, instead of objective logic, and fight each other to "progress", "competing" (in unfair games) rather than cooperating, stepping on each others' heads in order to "rise".

3) Instead of rectifying the environment, farmers chose beak mutilation.

In human society, similarly, curtailment of individual liberties is chosen by the illiterate regimes (e.g.: Visa to cross borders).

But humanity can simply rectify its system...

Thus a truly logical civilizational system (i.e., Utopia) will

a) provide for workshops etc., like ancient Arkaim or the Proto-Indo-European kurgan cultures

b) disemphasize quantitative inter-human contact and replace it with qualitative inter-human contact,

by

maximizing (and uniformizing) normative inter-human distances

by:

·        retaining only 1 human per house

·        placing human residences as per a lattice (or equivalent) arrangement -- each individual's home is at a point in a lattice (as far apart as possible) --

thus human individual residences should be mutually oriented in an entropy-maximizing manner.

For maximization of entropy is the law of the universe, and it is absurd and defeatist to go against it...

The second entropy-increasing design concept:

Dwellings should be embedded in nature (jungle culture), rather than pseudo-nature being embedded among dwellings/cities (park culture).

Why?

In order to increase the entropy of the World (which is the second step required, the first being increasing the entropy of civilization)...

Rejoining nature is the only way to end the problem of increasing depression, stress, dementia etc. (" neurosis", which can be precisely defined as a disease resulting from man's estrangement from nature, whose capability to stimulate and nurture the Norepic System is unrivalled).

The "advanced" urban humankind can learn a thing or two about spiritual advancement from the Piraha tribals; as Daniel Everett says:

"The Pirahã are supremely gifted in all the ways necessary to ensure their continued survival in the jungle."

See, nature's components are highly logical. The problems they present* are not problematic; they are an ideal education, as they demand logical talent to solve (and thus use the Norepic Generative System, and cause happiness).

* procure food, mates etc. in a logically efficient rather than a capitalistic (illogical) manner

A general return to nature is seriously important; its benefits are:

1.     The extreme logical complexity of "Forest-embedded system" (entropic system) -- will train the problem-solving skills of its residents thus ensuring optimum happiness; forests are an automatic means of qualitative education (Gnosis)...

2.     A pro-nature civilization is the one way to end the fatal problems of urban culture, such as climate change (a real and MAJOR nuisance), pollution (dust and smog), water shortages etc.

3.     Easy sources of fresh food are provided by Fukuokan food forests (unfresh food is poison)

Instinctive myths" like the Malthusian myth are false, and poison the fools' wells of "borrowed thought"...

The people of Tokyo can show how man needs merely a small amount of personal space once he has the entire world to call his own!

With these principles in mind, one can discuss a new utopia for an increasingly logical humanity, a utopia which begins with sowing seed as much as building houses...

The forest-embedded Utopia is inspired by the ancient "Wood elf" society which Tolkien has described, which is pictured below
